# Competitive Analysis — Asset Nova / Shield

Date: 2026-08-26. Closes the ralph-wiggum "disqualifier gap": SuperHive (AI71) researched in depth. Sources: web research (ai71.ai, ATRC, press coverage July 2025 – July 2026), nodeslinks.com, plus `cpm-agentic-ai-product-discovery.md`.

## Headline

No competitor occupies Asset Nova's seat: **owner-side, cross-system (P6 + SAP + Aconex), commercial/claims intelligence on process-industry megaprojects.** The closest strategic threat is SuperHive (AI71) — same region, sovereign-AI story, full-lifecycle ambition — but its shipped product is design validation, and its roadmap doesn't touch contracts, correspondence, or claims.

## SuperHive (AI71) — deep dive

**Who they are.** AI71 is the enterprise-AI venture of Abu Dhabi's ATRC (the government body behind the Falcon open-weights LLMs, via TII), launched Nov 2023, chaired by H.E. Faisal Al Bannai (TIME 100 AI). Commercialized through ATRC's VentureOne. Pitch: sovereign, self-hosted AI on Falcon models — decentralised data control for companies and countries. (Note: backed by ATRC, not MGX — correct the earlier journal note.)

**What SuperHive is.** Launched July 2025 as an "end-to-end construction lifecycle platform" built as modular **studios**:
- **Design Studio** — live, public beta since July 2026. Reads IFC/BIM models, validates against building-code rule catalogs ("99% accuracy" claim), flags failures with rule-traced reasoning. GenAI 2D→3D conversion.
- **AiComply Studio** — permit compliance automation for consultants and municipal authorities.
- **Construction monitoring** — satellite, IoT, drone/CV site tracking; Primavera integration for predictive scheduling.
- **Digital twins / asset management** — city-scale monitoring, predictive maintenance, "livability scoring"; real-time quantity takeoff and cost estimation.
- Roadmap (their July 2026 announcement): schedule intelligence "in development"; cost estimation, market intelligence, supply chain, digital twin "coming next."
- Claimed outcomes (LinkedIn, Dec 2025): +15% profit, −20% construction cost, −50% rework in planning/design.

**Where they're strong (respect this):**
1. Sovereign-AI credibility Orbitron can't match on paper: state-backed, own frontier models (Falcon), UAE government distribution (municipal permit desks).
2. Real shipped product with public-beta PLG motion (no waitlist, free) — fast logo acquisition among developers.
3. Same "AI-native, not SaaS" narrative; modular studios rhyme with NovaOS composability.

**Where they don't compete (the seat stays open):**
1. **Buildings/urban construction, not process-industry megaprojects.** Their ICP is developers, consultants, municipalities — building codes, permits, BIM. Nothing on FIDIC/EPC contract mechanics, gas plants, or owner PMOs.
2. **No commercial/claims layer.** Nothing reads correspondence, computes notice deadlines, drafts notices, or builds evidence chains. Their unit of analysis is the model/site, not the contract and the project record.
3. **Design/site-phase, not full-lifecycle commercial.** "Schedule intelligence" is in development; claims/disputes absent from every module and announcement.
4. **UAE-first, not KSA-first.** No IKTVA/SACS-002 story visible; Aramco procurement gates favor in-Kingdom posture.

**Threat assessment:** *Medium, rising.* If SuperHive extends from schedule intelligence into contract/claims (a natural adjacency once they ingest Primavera + documents), they become the head-on competitor with a sovereign-model advantage. Time-to-move estimate: 12–24 months given current studio roadmap. **Implication: speed matters — land the owner-PMO commercial wedge before their schedule studio matures.**

**Interview soundbite:** "SuperHive validates the thesis that Gulf construction wants sovereign, lifecycle AI — but they're solving *design and site* problems for buildings. Nobody, including them, reads the commercial record of a process-industry megaproject. That's the seat Asset Nova takes, and the moat is the substrate we build while they're still in design studios."

## Nodes & Links — updated

UK-based, "AI project expert" for project controls. Ships: schedule quality/assurance automation on P6-compatible models, ML risk forecasting, GenAI report drafting, "AI Mode" Q&A with auditable answers traced to schedule logic (launched ~Jan 2026). Positioning: augment planners/schedulers.
- **Overlap:** schedule interrogation (our H1 fast-follow), auditability language ("every answer traced to source" ≈ our evidence chains).
- **Gap:** schedule-file silo. No correspondence, no contract mechanics, no notices/claims, no cost reconciliation. Planner-persona, not contracts/PMO-persona. No sovereign/KSA posture.

## Rest of field (unchanged from deck, one-line each)

| Player | Ships | Misses |
|---|---|---|
| ALICE Technologies | Schedule simulation/optimization | Documents, commercial, cross-system |
| nPlan | ML schedule risk on P6 | Anything beyond the XER |
| Document Crunch (Trimble) | Contract clause extraction | The live project record; static not continuous |
| OpenSpace / Buildots / Doxel | CV progress tracking | Cost, commercial, FEL |
| Procore + agents | Construction management | Owner-side process-industry megaprojects |
| Trunk Tools | Field document Q&A | Narrow, contractor-side |
| CLM vendors (Icertis, Sirion) | Enterprise contract lifecycle | Project record correlation; not CPM-native |

## Positioning map (for the deck)

Axes: **phase coverage** (design/site ↔ full lifecycle incl. commercial) × **unit of intelligence** (single system ↔ cross-system record).
- Bottom-left cluster: nPlan, ALICE, OpenSpace (single-system, execution-phase).
- Middle: Nodes & Links (schedule system, deepening), Document Crunch (contract only), SuperHive (multi-module but design/site-centric today).
- Top-right, empty: **Asset Nova** — cross-system project record, commercial + lifecycle, owner-side.

## Deck actions applied

1. Replace A2 SuperHive row (remove "MGX-backed" — it's ATRC/VentureOne; remove [ACTION] tag — research done).
2. Add threat-assessment line + soundbite to talk track.
3. Keep honesty: name SuperHive unprompted as "most credible future competitor" — turns the gap into a strength.
